Traditionally, Native Americans use symbols, images, and star patterns as keys to  remembering their  history and stories. Based on these traditions, "The Storytelling Shirt" program has been developed.

Wearing traditional Native regalia and the storytelling shirt (a full length buckskin shirt hand painted with symbols and Cherokee  star patterns)  these images are used to retell traditional stories such as "The Uktena", and the "The Pleiades and the Pine". Students and teachers will not only be entertained but will learn how Native Americans use images and symbols as "keys" to unlocking their memories.
